Anxiety disorder is chronic abnormal condition that stems from persistent worry, fear and irrational anxiety. Individual who incessantly suffer from uneasiness and excessive stress whilst exhibiting physical symptoms such as trembling, perspiration and feelings of dread, would typically be diagnosed as having anxiety disorder.

The causes for this disorder usually stem from biological and environmental factors. It is common in many people with one in every ten suffering from some form of anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorder is sometimes defined as a distinctive type of mental illness that engulfs a person’s life with extreme anxiety, unreasonable worry and chronic fear.

Physical symptoms include palpitations and sweating. Emotional distress includes constant fear and worry.

Some types of anxiety disorder are generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder and phobia.
